Karl Deisseroth, who shared in the prize, helped pioneer the technique and explains how this discovery opened the door to understanding which brain cells control hunger, thirst, aggression, anxiety, memory and even parenting behaviors.

The takeaway? The way sustainability is framed to entrepreneurs matters. When taking care of the planet is an opportunity and not an obligation, meaningful change becomes easier to achieve.
