The Santa Cruz County Justice Project, a nonprofit effort led by longtime Nogalians Miguel A. Lopez and Martha “Chiquis” Barrón, has been awarded a $47,500 T‑Mobile Hometown Grant to help finish construction on its future home at 230 N. Morley Ave.

Their vision for the space is a community-led legal aid clinic that also functions as a community center with access to technology and a coffee bar.

The Commission on Disability Issues under the City of Nogales will host the Neurodiversity Community Resource Fair on Thursday, April 2, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Teyechea Park, behind City Hall.

“As a parent of a neurodiverse child, I know how lonely and overwhelming it can feel to navigate state and local services,” said Michelle Ramirez, chair of the Commission on Disability Issues. 

“But we want people to know that they’re not alone."
