I Belong To The Zoo’s current sound is audibly fuller, focused and overall, has a rejuvenated energy behind the sonics of their June 2026 full length ‘Always Here’… which, in turn, was catapulted by their 2025 EP ‘Balik-Tanaw’ – a product that strangely came about angularly by way of being stranded on a trip to El Nido Palawan, and by a self-imposed deadline which sort of pushed the group to dig deep as a collective.

With the sold-out success of their recently concluded first major concert at the New Frontier Theater, I Belong To The Zoo has since proven that they’re a collective that works well with a proven method of rolling with the punches: adjusting, adapting, thriving… and somehow, they always find themselves comfortably at the top.

Fueled and propelled by an uncanny ability to provide painfully honest lyricism, a knack for churning-out simple yet irresistible vocal and musical melodies, and a precise grasp on the emotions their legion of followers and listeners often have a hard time verbalizing and expressing, the band, amidst all their achievements and accolades from pundits, contemporaries and fans, has definitely tapped-in tight to the pulse of those who enjoy their sound and style.

PULP Magazine caught up with the band for an interview ahead of their sold-out show – because any serious fan, who not only appreciates the lyrics, the melodies and production and arrangements of any kind of music, will tell you: there are good songs and there’s EXCELLENT music.
