Adding a Facebook Pixel

Power up your Campsite with Facebook marketing.

What is the Facebook pixel?

The Facebook pixel is a piece of code that you embed in your website. It tracks conversions from Facebook ads, optimizes ads based on the collected data, helps build targeted audiences for ads in the future, and lets you remarket to people who have taken actions on your site.

It works by placing and triggering cookies to track users as they interact with your website.

Setting it up on Campsite

First, make sure you've created a Facebook pixel. What Campsite needs is the Pixel ID.

  1. Open up the events manager
  2. In the "Facebook Pixel" section, select "Get Started". Name and create your Pixel. Create pixel
  3. Select "Email instructions to a developer" Select email to developer Pixel id
  4. Paste in the Pixel ID on your settings page under "Analytics" Paste in campsite
  5. You're all set!

Events

Once the pixel has been set, it will start tracking events for you on your Campsite page. We track every time your site is visited, and every time a button is clicked.

Pinterest Tag

The Pinterest tag is a piece of code that you add to your website which lets Pinterest track visitors to your site as well as the actions they take on your site after seeing your Pinterest ad.

First, make sure you have a Pinterest business account.

You'll start the process of installing your tag from the Conversions page of Ads Manager. What Campsite needs is the Tag ID.

  1. Open your Pinterest business hub
  2. Select Ads > Conversions in the menu
  3. When setting up your Tag, the Tag ID will be in the top right corner

TikTok Pixel

The TikTok Pixel is a piece of code that you can place on your website that allows advertisers to share website visitor events to TikTok via a browser.

First, make sure you have a TikTok Ads account.

  1. Open your TikTok Ads Manager account
  2. Select Assets > Events in the menu. Then select Web Events.
  3. Select the Create Pixel button
  4. Enter a name and select to manually install the pixel code

  5. Select developer mode on the next step. If you've already selected standard mode, you'll have to create a new pixel.

  6. The pixel ID will be available after you've clicked confirm on the next step
