Doug cameo means it’s serious. Public lands are where Doug and I raise our kids, where we reconnect, and what defines how we live as Montanans.

Last year, millions of acres of public land nearly were sold off through a closed-door budget deal without public debate. Including a large stretch of land just 20 miles from where we filmed this video. It only stopped because people spoke out. You all spoke out.

And we need to speak out again.

Join Doug and I in urging Senator Daines and Senator Sheehy to support the Public Lands Integrity Act. Calls and emails truly do make a difference, and they help keep public lands in public hands for future generations.

The Public Lands Integrity Act would:
• Stop public land sales from being slipped into budget deals
• Require transparency and public debate
• Ensure future proposals face full public scrutiny

When you step foot into the conservation world, you quickly realize that this topic runs so much deeper than left vs. right, especially in Montana.

Every year the University of Montana polls Montana voters on political issues, and this year's results echo what we've always known: Montanans cherish public lands, regardless of their political background. 84% of MT voters support a ban on the sale/transfer of national public lands.

In a world where it's easy to focus on what divides us, there is so much power in noticing where we can come together. When public lands are sold, that is a permanent decision. I want to see this wilderness preserved for generations to come, and we have to fight for it.

Though Sen. Lee's proposal was wildly unpopular amongst the people, it is saddening that many politicians were ready to support the proposed sale of public lands. Far too many representatives do not understand the economic and recreational value these places hold for their local communities.

We ask Daines and Sheehy to again stand up for what's right, and to be a voice for their constituents, by backing the Public Lands Integrity Act.

Join me in urging Senator Daines and Senator Sheehy to sign the Public Lands Integrity Act. Every email and every phone call matters when it’s our public lands on the line.

Public lands should never be quietly traded away behind closed doors.

The Public Lands Integrity Act would bring transparency and public process to any future attempt to sell federal public lands.

Montanans have already made their voices heard. Now it’s time for Congress to listen.

Tell Senators Daines & Sheehy to support the Public Lands Integrity Act.

Montanans made enough noise to stop a public land sell-off once. Now it’s time to show up again.

The Public Lands Integrity Act protects the places we hunt, fish, roam, and call home.

Hear from our Policy Director Hilary, then hit the link in bio to email Senators Daines & Sheehy and remind them to stand by what they said last year about keeping public lands in public hands.

On Monday, the Department of the Interior and the Bureau of Land Management finalized the rollback of the Public Lands Rule, a critical conservation policy.

The rule required the BLM to recognize conservation "as an essential component of public lands management" - in essence, making it a valid use of BLM land, alongside mining and drilling.

It also made sure the BLM considered local community input in its decision-making and land-use planning processes. The rule applied across all 8 million BLM acres in Montana and 245 million acres nationwide.

During public comment periods leading up to the rule's implementation, 92% of comments nationwide supported it. And now it's gone, just like that.

Where decisions are made matters. When leadership moves further from oversight and accountability, our public lands feel it. Make your voice heard.

Here’s the gist of it: USFS headquarters are moving from DC to SLC.

This moves agency leadership away from Congress and other federal agencies responsible for laws, funding, and oversight. That matters.

Instead it puts them in the western state with the least Forest Service land, home to notorious anti-public lands politicians like Sen. Mike Lee.

Read all about it and contact members of congress at the link in our bio.
